This is a piece that I’ve worked and reworked a few times and now it’s finally at a point where I don’t want to touch it again. It started as a reflection of my newer American influences and how my art has been changed by them.

This painting was inspired by New Mexico, my home from home

I thought I’d do things a little differently with this painting. I hadn’t used a large canvas in a long time so I decided to give it a go.

I’ve been waiting for this exhibition for a while as it was called of enitiallly due to covid, it’s such a relief to finally have it up. The wonderful people at bwlch nantyarian have been so helpful with it.

I’ve started to experiment with flower painting alongside my main exhibition work. Unlike my previous works of this scale I’ve incorporated Japanesque gouache into the water colour studies. I find this gives a very pleasant finishing texture to the works. More to follow soon

Due to the corona virus my upcoming exhibition in Santa Fe has been cancelled. While this is completely understandable it is also personally disappointing as it would’ve been my first exhibition in the US. However I remain hopeful that the exhibition will be rescheduled for later on in the year, in the meantime I will be presenting a scaled down version of this exhibition on my website over the next few days to give people a taste of what’s in store.
