From these images I gain ideas about compositions and colour combinations for my work

Up until this point in my university career my works had been getting gradually larger. Whilst i enjoyed the bigger format i thought it was time to attempt to scale down my works in order to gain a better sense of control over them. my subject matter has also changed lately, from abstractions based off seascapes or large landscapes to smaller compositions primarily based of cracked paving stones and other broken segments of the Welsh cityscape.

Here are some small studies which I’ve based off of the environment around aberystwyth. Taking the main structures from cracks in rocks and paving stones and the colours from an interest in experimentation with colour and layering.
